From downtown go to the north side of Burnside st and catch a number 20 bus. You are approaching 23rd. At the intersection, 23rd is on your right. When it crosses Burnside and goes up the hill on the left, it's Vista. This is the intersection of Burnside and Northwest 23rd. Your stop is in the middle of this block. Here is your stop. Go up to the end of the block and cross Burnside. Go straight ahead into the park. From the bus stop to the Rose Gardens is about 700 yards or about a ten to fifteen minute hike. Take the middle path. Keep going uphill. It's all paved and fairly smooth. Up the steps directly ahead or you can take the path on the left if steps are a problem. Look uphill for the sign. Follow the arrows. Past the rhododendrons. Up these steps, once again there is a stepless path off to the left . And here we are! From the kiosk in the middle of the garden, You have a panoramic view of Portland and, on a clear day, Mt Hood.
