Self-Edit into PublicationFinally, a list of items to check for after your first draft is complete. There are many mistakes authors make that cause their stories to be rejected. In this presentation, I cover stylistic errors editors and agents look for in manuscripts. Apply most of these and you have a better chance of publication. Topics include: show don’t tell, RUE, passive versus active voice, hedging, on-the-nose writing, and more. I include examples of wrong and right writing, resources, and humor. Workshop attendees receive a seven-page handout of twenty topics covered for their use at home

Then we’ll discuss how to show your character by using gestures, phrases, and how they interact with other people.
And lastly, we’ll discuss how important using the right word can evoke the emotion and visual you are attempting to portray in your book. Presented by
