The Scot's Goodnight

  • This night is my departing night,
  • For here nae langer may I stay
  • I hope ye're a' my friends as yet
  • And sorry I will soon away

  • Of all the money that e'er I had
  • I spent it in good company
  • And all the harm I've ever done
  • It was done to none but me

  • And all I've done for want of wit
  • To mem'ry now we'll not recall
  • As I must rise you shall stay
  • For now and ever, bless you all

  • Come fill to me the parting cup
  • And gently rise and softly call
  • Should I return or should I not,
  • Good night and joy be to you all.
