We will be hosting a Shooting Star Party at the Prairie Springs Fish Farm on August 12-13. It will start at 11pm on Aug 12 with a midnight supper of steak soup and who knows what else; potluck is encouraged but not required.

Shooting stars are like weather; nothing can be guaranteed; we might see 70 meteors per hour in the very early morning, or we might see none. The 12-13 of August will be near the new moon and the odds of little or no cloud cover in Grant County in August are very good so in any case the star gazing should be excellent.

Meteors are supposed to peak just before dawn so we plan to hang out until til dawn when we will treat ourselves to a big breakfast.

This is a private event by invitation only. Please RSVP. Bring a sweater or blanket- no matter how hot it gets during the day, it can get chilly at night. We encourage you to bring something to pass the time; music, games, whatever. I will be inviting a very diverse array of my acquaintances so if you are uncomfortable in the presence of people whose opinions are completely different from yours, you might want to stay away. Other than that, it is all good.
